Chair: Gary Grieshaber
The Stewardship Committee promotes stewardship education and formation by introducing the stewardship message in all facets of parish life. Members seek ways to publicize the ministries and activities that take place in the parish community in order to create interest and attract volunteers. This committee works with all standing committees to assist in the management of parish human and financial resources of time, talent and treasure.
1) Finance: Bob Meadows Tim Bixler
Committee members attend meetings the third Tuesday of each month and oversee the financial concerns of the parish. Tasks include budgeting, financial reporting, investment management and conducting internal audits. Being a certified public accountant is not a requirement and there are many subcommittees to which members can be assigned.
2) Fundraising Steering Committee: Vacant Chair
The Fundraising Steering Committee plans the events that serve to raise funds for the parish. This committee includes those volunteers willing to organize and implement the fund-raising events such as the Fall Festival, Night at the Races, Auction/Dinner, Trivia Night and school fund-raising. Parishioners can volunteer their time to work at the various fundraising events by responding to volunteer requests in the bulletin prior to those events.
3) Money Counters: David Buchenberger L. Orthober (Monday scheduler)
Members work in teams of three to four people, and are responsible for securing, counting and depositing the collections. One team meets on Sunday morning to process the 6:00 p.m., 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. collections; another meets on Monday morning to process the noon collections. Sunday teams typically serve once every eight to 10 weeks; the Monday teams serve a little more often. The process usually takes less than two hours. No formal experience is necessary, but confidentiality and a knack for accuracy are helpful.
4) Needs Network: Jennifer Jones
The Needs Network provides the opportunity for adult parishioners to offer occasional, temporary help. This committee is ideal for the parishioner who may not be able to commit to a long-term or regular commitment to a ministry or committee. Network members are contacted for special needs or projects on an as-needed basis. You can decide when you are able to help. Examples of the type of help that might be needed include serving a meal, cleaning up after an event, stuffing a mailing, making phone calls or assisting with a child-related activity.
5) New Member Registration: JoJo Johnson
Persons wanting to register as members of St. Michael attend one of the new member registrations usually held the 3rd Sunday of every other month. Committee members facilitate the meetings and create the welcoming St. Michael atmosphere. Committee members also follow up with new registrants after the registration.
