Q. Who is eligible to participate in St. Michael Athletics?
A. Children in grades K-8 who attend St. Michael School OR who are registered parishioners of
St. Michael and actively participate in CCD classes are eligible to play St. Michael sports.

Q. Where and When do I register my child(ren) for sports?
A. All registrations are processed through the GameDay website. We strongly encourage you to create an account profile for
your child as soon as possible-- even if your child is not interested in an upcoming sport. St. Michael Athletics utilizes emails from GameDay to announce the dates of sports registrations each season. Sports sign ups typically occur 6-8 weeks prior to the start of the season.

Q. How do I sign up to coach a St. Michael team?
A. We are ALWAYS looking for coaches and assistant coaches! Anyone interested in coaching at St. Michael should reach out to the appropriate sports coordinator, as well as register through GameDay website. Note that all
coaches and volunteers that work with children at St. Michael must complete Safe Environment Training and undergo a background check.

Q. Am I REQUIRED to volunteer if my child participates in St. Michael sports?
A. Yes. There is no way we can provide a quality Athletics program for our 600+ athletes without help from parent volunteers. Therefore, each family is required to volunteer at least ONE work shift during the season in which your child participates in a sport. (You acknowledge this every time you sign up your child for a sport in GameDay.) If you choose to not volunteer in the season in which your child is playing a sport, you are subject to a $75 fee that will be automatically deducted through the FACTS system if any volunteer spots go unfilled in that season.

Q. Can my child(ren) participate in more than one St. Michael sport at a time?
A. Yes. It is possible for children to participate in more than one St. Michael sport at a time,
but it may be impossible to avoid ALL conflicts. (Ex. Volleyball practice falls on the same
evening as a cross country meet.) We suggest you speak to the sport coordinators prior
to sign ups to discuss your specific scenario. For the most part, coaches try to make sports
conflicts work. However, St. Michael cannot guarantee "work arounds" for your child's
individual, non-St. Michael club sport schedule. Again, we recommend you speak with
your child’s coach to discuss your specific scenario.

Q. What are sign-up fees, gate admission charges, and concession profits used for?
A. St. Michael Athletics is proud to provide a top-notch athletic program that serves approximately 600 athletes per year. With so many participants, we use fees for the purchase and upkeep of the following: Equipment (balls, nets, goals, helmets, padding, scoreboard, targets, archery bows), Uniforms, Ref Fees, CSAA Membership Fees, Pee Wee Sports Awards, Score/Clock Keeper Fees, External Gym Rental, Community Center Upkeep (lighting, HVAC, cleaning, restroom paper towels/soap, fob technology), Field Upkeep (grass cutting, field striping) and Hall of Honors Event. If you have a specific financial concern about your family's ability to participate in sports, please contact the Athletic Director or Parish Office to discuss further.

Q. How can I get my company's banner hung in the Community Center?
A. St. Michael hosts seven to 14 sporting events per week from mid-August through early April, as well as Adult Volleyball and Basketball in our Community Center gym. Reach out to the Athletics Fundraising Coordinator for pricing information and getting your banner made today.
