Our after school care program is located on the top floor of the McCauley building. However, we enjoy utilizing our entire campus and can often be found on the playgrounds, athletic field, basketball goals or any other available area on campus.
Beginning August, 2023 after school care for preschool age children will offer full time only with limited availability.
Kindergarten through Eighth Grade
Students will be dismissed to the after school care staff in the cafeteria. From there we will walk each grade level to their designated areas to put away their belongings, wash hands and have snack.
Snack: Every child will be offered more than one option for snack and allowed to eat later if needed. Since lunch is a variety of times, we understand some children may be ready to eat as soon as they arrive, while others may become hungry as the afternoon progresses. Children are also welcome to finish their left over lunch or bring a snack from home.
Homework: Time will be allotted every afternoon for the completion of homework and opportunity to study for tests. The amount of time given will change depending on the age of the children and work load. While our staff is always happy to help, we can never ensure homework is fully complete or if your child is "test ready." We always do the best we can, but there are many children under our supervision each afternoon and our primary focus is to ensure safety and comfort.
Crafts, Activities & Play: We offer a variety of options for our after school students. While inside children can play air hockey, foosball, basketball, create crafts, play board games, dramatic play, build blocks, etc. Any thing that may engage a child and create a safe, fun space, we try to provide. Outside play allows the opportunity for students to play a variety of sports, group games, explore nature and utilize our playgrounds.
Early Dismissal and "no school" days: Pending staff, we try to provide care on early dismissal days. Care is not available when school is out.
Preschool
Students will be picked up from their classrooms and brought to the top floor of the McCauley building where they will put away their belongings, wash hands and have snack. While inside, children can continue to work on their fine motor skills, create crafts, engage in dramatic play and utilize many types of building blocks. Any thing that may engage a child and create a safe, fun space, we try to provide. Outside play allows the opportunity for preschool age to go on nature walks, run on the hill and utilize the playground.
Early Dismissal and "no school" days: After school is not available.
